Your Role at Baxter

The Senior Transportation Supervisor is responsible for functional leadership of US Last Mile Distribution and Replenishment RFPs to support the overall US network transformation. You will manage projects, establish global standard work, translate & prioritize requirements, support transportation margin improvement projects, report metrics & identify trends. In this position you will work closely with global service providers and regional functional stakeholders to map and simplify transportation processes. Data collection, reporting, analysis, and project management are key to success in this role.

What you'll be doing

  • Supervise team of 2-4 individuals supporting operations
  • Identify future transport business requirements for all segments ensuring appropriate stakeholder agreement and communication internally and externally through inclusion in RFP's
  • Develop service offerings for customer needs (ex: white glove, stock rotation, returns, etc)
  • Functionally manage the RFP process, document SOPs, evaluate bids, and support negotiations
  • Identify and evaluate new transportation routes and providers to optimize cost, speed, and reliability
  • Work closely with Warehouse Lead to ensure alignment with finalized Warehouse network position
  • Present updates to Transportation Leadership Team with clear timing and deliverables
  • Perform ad hoc analysis to identify opportunities that drive both financial and service improvements
  • Manage tactical execution of all modes of transportation to customers
  • Responsible for managing carrier KPI's, Tender acceptance %, on time pickup and delivery %, and route guide compliance
  • Analyzing the benefits utilizing dedicated fleets (fixed/variable cost components) vs. common carriers (Highly preferred)

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 5 years' experience in Supply Chain/Operations and transport management
  • Supply Chain related knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of US transport market including carriers and developments
  • Expertise in pulling, validating, analyzing, and presenting key data to facilitate decision making
  • Knowledge across all modes of transportation including parcel, LTL, truckload, IM, and ocean freight (negotiating rates, quarterly reviews, and managing service levels)
  • Knowledgeable with TMS systems (Blue Yonder preferred)
  • Experience with JDE (preferred)
  • Understands requirements for dry, refrigerated, and frozen freight
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Results oriented mindset with urgency and accountability
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Strong decision-making capabilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lead and implement change efficiently
  • Proven ability to drive engagement and results

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $88,000 - $121,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonus.
