We have an outstanding career opportunity for a US Customs Brokerage - Supervisor focusing on successful growth and development as well as day-to-day operational management in our PHN (Port Huron, MI) office

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the execution of daily tasks and activities, coaching and guiding the team to meet work schedules and targets.
  • Engage in customer reviews and analyze performance indicators to identify opportunities for improving overall service quality.
  • Collaborate with customers, other logistics departments, and IT specialists to facilitate seamless customer-related processes.
  • Monitor the timely distribution and communication of updates to operational procedures, ensuring adherence to standards for efficient and cost-effective service.
  • Assess training needs to ensure the team receives adequate development and coaching.
  • Identify issues and opportunities, implementing best practices to enhance customer operations with a focus on effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Assist in planning, prioritizing, assigning, and supervising office support initiatives.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities and timely upgrades to equipment, facilities, and systems.
  • Manage the daily administration of various office services (e.g., copy services, office supplies, mail, records management, fleet management) to meet the organization's administrative needs.
  • Recommend and support the implementation of goals and objectives, establishing schedules and methods for administrative support, and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Oversee daily operations of the team to execute office support projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in office administration by researching, compiling, analyzing, and summarizing data for special projects and comprehensive reports; prepare annual, quarterly, or administrative reports; take meeting minutes; and supervise the ordering and storage of supplies.
  • Address complaints and requests for information regarding regulations, procedures, systems, and precedents.

Skills / Requirements:

  • Excellent understanding of US Customs Brokerage, global forwarding, Air and Ocean services and the overall logistics industry
  • 3-5 years of experience in related area of responsibility
  • 1 year of supervisory experience in related area of responsibility
  • Bachelor's Degree (Business Administration, Int'l Trade or related area) preferred
  • Strong communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills; ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and DHL Global Forwarding business units
  • Licensed Customs Broker (preferred)

Pay Range $15,86- $ 21,15 + (Based on Experience)
