Job Description Summary:

Manages financial operations of Partners For Kids. Oversees accounting processes, ensures compliance with financial regulations, and provides strategic financial insights to support business decisions.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensures accuracy and completeness of financial reports in accordance with GAAP. Coordinates with auditors for annual audits and provides necessary documentation. Assists with tax documentation and filings.
  • Collaborates with actuary to calculate and monitor IBNR reserves. Utilizes statistical models and historical data to estimate unreported claims liabilities. Prepares detailed reports on IBNR and medical expense trends for review. Analyses medical claims data to identify cost drivers and trends. Partners to develop strategies for cost containment and efficiency. Manages reinsurance process and submits large claims for reimbursement.
  • Researches and utilizes Ohio Department of Medicaid capitation rate books. Develops and maintains detailed reports on capitation rates and rate trends. Assists with the calculation of rates specific to managed care plans contracts. Ensures monthly capitation receipts are accurate and timely.
  • Develops and manages annual budget process. Monitors budget performance and provides variance analysis. Assists in long-term financial planning and forecasting.
  • Maintains and reconciles general ledger accounts. Ensures timely and accurate posting of transactions. Performs month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Leads, develops, and implements policies and procedures. Conducts regular reviews to ensure adherence to internal controls. Identifies areas for improvement and recommends corrective actions.
  • Performs financial analysis to support business decisions. Provides insights on cost management and revenue enhancement. Assists in evaluating financial performance and identifying trends.

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or in Business Administration with a major in Accounting, or related field, required.
  • Post-graduate degree, preferred.

Certifications:

Active or inactive CPA certification preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organization and communication (written and oral) skills.
  • Proven self-management and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Experience:

Three years of general accounting experience with health insurance or healthcare, preferred.
