GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Sourcing Consultant plays a pivotal role in identifying and engaging high-caliber talent for critical and advanced-level Mortgage Loan Originator roles across the mortgage line of business. This role requires deep research expertise, strategic sourcing capabilities, and a consultative mindset to uncover hidden talent not typically accessible through traditional sourcing channels.

With a focus on building and nurturing strong relationships, the Sourcing Consultant partners closely with internal stakeholders to understand hiring needs, develop targeted sourcing strategies, and deliver top-tier candidates. The ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously while maintaining a high level of service and responsiveness is essential.

This role is instrumental in driving a sustained competitive advantage by proactively identifying talent that aligns with the organization's long-term goals. The Sourcing Consultant is also responsible for fostering a culture of risk awareness by openly sharing ideas, raising concerns, and adhering to all policies and procedures. They are accountable for consistently doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and for ensuring that their actions contribute to a positive customer experience. Operating within the Bank's risk appetite, the Sourcing Consultant achieves results by identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition Consultants, leadership, and business executives to design and execute strategic sourcing plans that target high-impact, hard-to-find talent across the mortgage line of business.

  • Leverage deep market knowledge and established professional networks to proactively identify and engage top-tier candidates.
  • Apply a consultative approach when partnering with candidates, recruiters, and hiring leaders to ensure alignment with business needs and candidate expectations.
  • Continuously research and implement innovative sourcing tools, platforms, and methodologies to uncover passive and hidden talent.
  • Gather and share competitive intelligence, market trends, and talent insights to inform sourcing strategies and provide a strategic advantage to Talent Acquisition and business leaders.
  • Develop and execute targeted marketing and communication campaigns to build long-term relationships with critical skill candidates and maintain passive talent pipelines.
  • Represent and promote the organization's employment brand externally, ensuring alignment with cultural values and candidate expectations.
  • Conduct initial candidate assessments and deliver pre-qualified talent to recruiters and hiring managers for further evaluation.
  • Track and report key sourcing metrics to measure effectiveness, identify trends, and uncover opportunities in talent markets.
  • Utilize advanced Boolean search techniques and internal tools to source candidates through databases, professional networks, and social platforms.
  • Maintain a strong social media presence and encourage sourcing best practices across the Talent Acquisition team and business leaders.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to uphold data integrity standards within Workday and other CRM systems, ensuring accurate and organized candidate pipelines.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This role does not include direct management responsibilities. However, the Sourcing Consultant may provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced sourcing consultants and talent acquisition team members, sharing best practices and supporting skill development across the team.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of five years of experience in strategic sourcing and/or full-cycle recruitment, with a strong emphasis on identifying passive talent.
  • Proven experience in a client-facing or sales-oriented role requiring relationship development, talent identification, and long-term engagement strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute innovative sourcing campaigns and candidate engagement programs that attract high-impact talent.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities and multiple concurrent searches.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in sourcing technologies, internet research, and Microsoft Office Suite. Skilled in Boolean search techniques and familiar with CRM and ATS platforms such as Workday.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Familiarity with mortgage lending roles, industry terminology, and the unique challenges of recruiting within the financial services sector.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong candidate pipelines to support high-volume and specialized recruiting needs.
  • Comfortable using applicant tracking systems (ATS), CRM tools, and advanced Boolean search techniques to identify and engage talent.
  • Skilled in developing strong partnerships with recruiters and hiring managers to understand role requirements and deliver qualified candidates.
  • Experience using data and sourcing metrics to evaluate effectiveness and refine sourcing strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling outreach messages and engage candidates effectively.
Sourcing Consultant- Mortgage Total Base Pay Range 69,800.00 - 143,100.00 USD Annual
