This summer 2026 embedded firmware internship will be part of Keysight's Automotive and Energy Solutions (AES) group located in Loveland, Colorado. AES products focus on emerging markets related to automotive and energy including electric vehicles, grid-edge technologies and lab power supply products. Our team in Loveland develops a variety of embedded firmware products, software applications and cloud-based solutions. A successful candidate for this position will have strong C++ skills and a desire to work with a mixed team of firmware and gateware developers, EEs and QA engineers to develop cutting-edge power products and solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy embedded firmware for electronic test and power applications.
  • Participate in design and code reviews with other team members.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance existing test procedures and automated regression systems as needed to support on-going development, improve test coverage, and adapt to infrastructure changes.
  • Create and deliver a presentation at the end of your internship summarizing your experiences.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Completion of sophomore year at an accredited 4- year university working toward a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Strong knowledge and development experience with C++
  • Knowledge of modern object-oriented design methodologies
  • Experience with Integrated Development Environments and open-source compilers/debuggers
  • Experience with revision control tools such as Git
  • Demonstrate passion for learning and seek development opportunities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired:

  • Desire to work closely with hardware, ability to understand schematics and circuit diagrams.
  • Experience with automation and programming test and measurement equipment
  • Multi-threaded operation in embedded Linux
  • Familiarity with Agile development processes and tools

Loveland Colorado: MIN $29.01 - MAX $38.66

Based on experience, education and skills, most offers will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the Salary Range listed above.
Note: For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region.
Candidates who wish to be considered must be enrolled in a accredited college/university as of September 2026. Applicants who have graduated before September 2026 will not be considered unless they are entering/applying to a MS or PHD program after graduating.
