Position Highlights The Data Analyst III for Arizona Online's Recruitment & Enrollment Management office provides analytical expertise in the planning, development, and assessment of objectives, and long-range forecasting and strategic recruitment and enrollment plans. This position will also support with centralized reporting initiatives for Arizona Online student populations. The Data Analyst III will identify business intelligence, reporting and data analysis needs within Arizona Online's Recruitment, with the objective of turning data into critical information, knowledge and insights which can be utilized to make sound decisions which support University operations. This role will also maintain the data warehouses and the associated business intelligence environments (Online Recruitment & Enrollment internal SharePoint site) utilized by the online recruitment and enrollment team.

This role will also supervise and lead a Data Analyst I. Together this unit will focus on collecting, analyzing, and presenting data to drive strategic decisions and enhance student recruitment and enrollment. Collaboration with team members and campus stakeholders will be essential to align departmental initiatives with data insights. The role requires knowledge and understanding of admissions, recruitment and enrollment metrics, proficiency in measuring recruitment outcomes, and a strong commitment to leveraging data to support online and post-traditional students' unique needs.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead analysis of key data points related to online recruitment and enrollment to inform strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
  • Conduct point-in-time and ad-hoc analyses using techniques such as statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, and trend forecasting.
  • Interpret and communicate critical observations and data insights to stakeholders to support decision-making.
  • Develop reports and data visualizations to recommend strategies for recruitment and enrollment planning.
  • Analyze historical recruitment and admissions data to evaluate past performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Recommend actions to optimize future recruitment efforts, strategic enrollment opportunities, and operational policies.
  • Perform ongoing analytical and reporting functions specific to Arizona Online student populations.
  • Support centralized reporting initiatives and collaborate with university-wide partners to enhance data accessibility and consistency.
  • Identify trends and patterns in recruitment and enrollment data to support planning, improve processes, and assess solutions.
  • Develop and maintain databases; ensure data accuracy and integrity in internal systems.
  • Design and implement dashboards, reporting tools, and predictive models to enhance decision-making capabilities across departments.
  • Ability to translate complex data findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, project management skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge and use of principles, theories and concepts related to Data Science and Analytics. Strong statistics and data manipulation knowledge and the broad understanding of best practices, techniques and standards.
  • Sharp attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage large datasets and analyze data in a higher education environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrates experience analyzing recruitment and enrollment data within a higher education context.
  • Experience supporting Institutional Research, Enrollment Management, or related departments in a college or university setting.
