Primary Work Location: 50 Washington Street, Westborough, MA; Hybrid schedule Job Summary:
- Coordinate the development of analyses and reporting capabilities of the Unified Procurement Services Team and other A&F departments as required.
- Support with the development and implementation of the Data Analytics strategic objectives of all departments supported.
- Monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.
- With guidance and requirements from product owners and stakeholders, work closely with the IT department and other A&F departments to build actionable reporting and presentations
- Responsible for designing and creating intuitive and insightful visual dashboards that vividly express metrics and KPIs.
- Supports Director, Service and Quality with daily operations of the Data and Analytics team.
- Advises campus and other UMPO A&F departments on data and reporting needs.
- Drives resolution of complex data and analytics issues as assigned by the Director, Service and Quality.
- Design visually interactive and actionable dashboards using data visualization tools.
- Analyze and understand data and identify data issues and anomalies, document them and work with IT professionals to put processes in place to correct them.
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Filter and "clean" data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
- Develop and implement predictive models and leverage machine learning techniques to identify trends, optimize processes, and generate actionable insights that support data-driven decision-making.
- Interact and collaborate with cross-functional group across supply chain, IT, finance, product and others to design the best possible analytics solution.
- Understand the needs of managers and leadership to present the results that can be easily consumed and acted upon.
- Train and mentor interns and other direct reports as appropriate on internal staff processes and procedures and industry leading practices within the department.
- Attend trainings, professional development, and conferences to incorporate new tools and methods into data and analytics work.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience): Employer will accept a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, Business Analytics or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Data Analyst-related occupation. In the alternative, Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, Business Analytics, or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Data Analyst-related occupation. Position requires demonstrable experience in the following, which can be gained in a professional or academic setting:
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated proficiency with queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
- Demonstrated strong knowledge and experience in writing complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets from relational databases.
- Demonstrated advanced skills in creating interactive and visually compelling dashboards and reports that communicate data insights and findings clearly to business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated strong experience with Python or R, utilizing libraries including Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of statistical analysis, regression, and machine learning techniques for predictive modeling and data forecasting.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into data analysis solutions, effectively presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
