Job Overview:

The Food Runner at our hospital plays a crucial role in our patient care experience,

This position involves ensuring the timely delivery of meals to patients, taking patient meal orders, collecting soiled meal trays, maintaining dietary guidelines, and contributing to a positive atmosphere,

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and committed to providing excellent service,

Qualifications:

Required:

Successful completion of general and department-specific orientation

Previous experience in a food service role

Knowledge of dietary restrictions and food safety standards

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Able to work in a very fast-paced environment

Preferred:

Experience in a healthcare setting

Certification in food handling and safety

Bilingual abilities

Excellent problem-solving skills

Scheduling Requirements:

Per diem position

Day shift

Hours: 7 am - 3:30 pm, 8:30 am - 2:30 pm

Must be available to work on weekends and holidays as needed.

Essential Functions:

Deliver meals to patients in a timely and respectful manner

Pick up soiled meal trays

Take patient meal orders

Adhere to dietary restrictions and guidelines for each patient

Maintain cleanliness and organization of food service areas

Collaborate with healthcare and dietary teams to ensure patient satisfaction

Assist in inventory management and meal preparation as needed,
