DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Juvenile Justice Facility Program Director, you will oversee the care, custody, and supervision of youth while directing, planning, and coordinating both administrative operations and programmatic services. You will ensure the safety and security of all residents by providing direct oversight to all employees and residents while guiding, coaching, and developing cultural expectations and rules through a therapeutic milieu. Duties include formulating and implementing treatment practices, rules, and regulations, and participating in the development of overall program objectives, goals, and activities related to residential rehabilitation. Additionally, you will coordinate with facility staff, courts, families, and other organizations to ensure treatment programming and the exchange of information.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. May change based on operation needs.
  • Travel: As Needed
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $88,235.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of professional counseling experience with delinquent, pre-delinquent, or socially maladjusted youth in an organized program, which includes two years of professional supervisory experience, and a bachelor's degree in the behavioral sciences, special education, juvenile delinquency, or criminal justice; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes two years of professional supervisory experience counseling delinquent, pre-delinquent, or socially maladjusted youth in an organized program.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
