DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for completing a wide-range of assignments involving moderately complex accounting principles and practices in accordance with department policies and procedures. Primary duties will entail invoice processing functions and monitoring budgets and expenditures. Effective communication skills are essential, as you will be collaborating with the comptroller and any necessary vendors to reconcile invoices and resolve any issues. You will also be tasked with reviewing budget reports, taking any appropriate actions, and maintaining detailed documentation regarding the status of existing funds. In addition, you will review Funds Commitment balances to determine if there is a need for reallocating funds from one fiscal year to another. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
- An Associate Degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits of accounting.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
