DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This is a part-time position of public contact work within the framework of the Neighborhood Senior Center Program. In this floater position, the employee will be assisting with daily operations, marketing and recruitment, and planning of activities for all centers. Acting as a substitute when a Center needs staff coverage is included in the duties. You will have the opportunity to participate in an on-the-job training program designed to develop the skills and abilities necessary for handling food and doing public contact work. A working knowledge of the available agency and community resources will be expected. Work involves direct management of the senior center, monitoring of food service, establishing contacts within the community to enhance the personal knowledge of the physical, cultural and social environment of each participant and establishing rapport with center participants. Supervision is received from a professional superior who evaluates employee work performance and potential.
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to work within Microsoft software to create fliers, calendars, and spreadsheets for advertising and organizational purposes.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Part-time employment
- Work hours are 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three months of experience in providing direct services in a human services, education or a community based setting to the aging population or to individuals from various cultures and socio-economic backgrounds or to individuals who have physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Lehigh County. If no eligible candidates who live within Lehigh County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
