DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The individual occupying this role is responsible for organizing and facilitating structured activities for residents at the Delaware Valley Veterans' Home, working closely under the guidance of the Therapeutic Recreational Services team. These planned sessions are designed to engage residents in a variety of activities that promote their physical, cognitive, and social development. By implementing tailored programs, the employee aims to enhance the overall well-being of each resident, encouraging them to reach their fullest potential in a supportive and nurturing environment. This position plays a crucial role in fostering a sense of community and belonging among the residents, ultimately contributing to their quality of life and personal growth.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM; Every other weekend & rotating holidays as scheduled.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months of experience as an Aide Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Six months of work experience providing care to individuals requiring assistance with daily activities; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
