Job Overview
The Technology Financial Analyst supports Macy's Technology leadership by driving strategic financial planning and analysis. This role enhances forecasting accuracy, manages capital and expense planning, and delivers insights that guide decision-making across the organization.

What You Will Do



  • Manage forecasting and actualization of SG&A expenses and capital spend
  • Provide updates comparing plan, forecast, and actuals using financial analysis and statistical modeling
  • Lead capital and expense planning processes, including variance analysis and scenario planning
  • Build financial models and perform projections to improve forecast accuracy
  • Develop and maintain reports and complete ad hoc analysis
  • Ensure compliance with audit standards, financial regulations, and company policies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance and support strategic goals
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in financial analysis and reporting
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.


Skills You Would Need

Financial Modeling: Builds complex models to support forecasting, scenario planning, and strategic analysis.

Analytical Thinking: Applies quantitative and qualitative methods to solve financial challenges and identify trends.

Communication: Translates financial data into clear insights for stakeholders across all levels.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Partners with teams across the organization to align financial strategies with business objectives.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensures adherence to GAAP and internal audit standards.

Technical Proficiency: Utilizes Excel, Adaptive, Oracle, and enterprise-level accounting tools for financial planning and reporting.

Who You Are



  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
  • Up to 3 years of experience in financial analysis or a related field
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving and prioritization skills
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments and manages multiple projects effectively
  • Possesses advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial forecasting tools
  • Communicates clearly and works well both independently and within teams
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
