The Academic and Financial Records Specialist is the first contact for students and their families in the Registrar/SFS office suite. They are responsible for oversight of front office tasks and assist in maintaining accurate academic and financial records for all students.

The Academic and Financial Records Specialist will Maintain front office area and manage front office tasks including greeting walk-ins, scheduling appointments, answering phones, and replying to e-mail requests in a timely manner. The Academic and Financial Records Specialist is expected to answer questions related to academic programs, registration, commencement, student billing, and financial aid while safeguarding student information in accordance with FERPA.

Facilitate the routine of updating of academic transcripts at the end of each academic term and manage all requests for academic transcripts via parchment and paper forms to ensure timely processing of records. Process and issue weekly refund checks in coordination with the Student Financial Services Counselor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Academic and Financial Records Specialist must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and be able to work with a wide range of people. The Academic and Financial Records Specialist should have excellent time management and organization skills to be able to prioritize various tasks and withstand frequent interruptions. This job involves a combination of customer service skills and technical office skills. Computer experience, such as Microsoft Office suite tools, and experience with the Family Rights and Privacy Act and other legal formalities as it relates to academic records are preferred.

Associates Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products preferred. Minimum of one year of professional work experience or its equivalent is preferred. Preferred experience in a higher education setting.
