A Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing activities on single or multi-discipline projects involving architecture, engineering, planning, interior design or other areas of the firm's practice.  General responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:  
   
 Leading, motivating, and effectively communicating with a project team during scope and project executionWorking with the Managing Principal and Design Manager to develop and present projects to clients, contractors, project team members, authorities having jurisdiction, and members of the public through all stages of the projectCoordinating with clients to ensure successful completion of projects that may involve either new construction or renovationFacilitating a professional and successful relationship between client, contractors, and the project teamRunning project meetings and participating in management meetingsActively support Managing Principals and Marketing in the Company's marketing and business development activitiesPreparing contracts and fee proposals for Managing Principal's review and participating in contract negotiationsEnsuring staff compliance with quality control policies and proceduresDeveloping and managing project planning, budgeting, and critical project objectivesVerify project consultants are properly licensed and insuredAssemble staff for project teams with input and concurrence from Managing Principals, Department Directors, and Department HeadsWorking with, responding to, and taking direction from Managing Principals and Senior Project ManagersAbility to travel is required
 Project responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 
   
 Perform Project Manager duties as assignedMonitor scope/schedule creep for potential additional servicesProvide weekly progress reports to the ClientMaintain project documentation in electronic files and NewformaAssemble and maintain design discipline sheet mock-ups and work plansPrepare and monitor project budgets and schedules with input from each discipline and consultantsFacilitate project team meetings to review project scope, project progress, and schedule issues as well as team coordination, coordination with consultants, and problem solvingReview RFI and shop drawing submittal responses for appropriateness and completenessPrepare draft monthly invoices, 12 month invoice projections and monitor accounts receivableReview and approve project related expenses and consultant invoicesAssemble and review design "milestone" submittal deliverables and ensure completeness and quality of the submittalPerform project closeout and archiving tasksSchedule QC/QA reviewsSchedule and/or conduct periodic site visits during construction
Required Skills
   
  
   
 A Project Manager should typically be a licensed professional or have 5 years or more of significant design and practice experience in a leadership role in the areas of the firm's practice.Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is desirableUnderstanding of sustainable design principles and design practices with LEED AP accreditation is preferredAdditional certifications such as CDT, CCS, or CCCA are encouraged to reflect personal growth in the profession and an ever increasing knowledge base to enhance the design and documentation processA Project Manager should be able to effectively utilize current company software programs for word processing, e-mail, accounting, and information management.Working familiarity with design and production software to a point of being able to understand the capabilities and limitations of the programs and interact with the support staff in their use of the software is highly desirable.Ability to prepare effective and concise documentsAbility to make presentations to a variety of groupsHave a client-oriented attitude with a desire to provide outstanding professional servicesBe dedicated to his or her professional development as well as the success of colleagues and the firm as a whole Demonstrate recognized leadership within the firm and outside the firmPossess excellent team leadership capabilities and abilitiesSpecialized experience in one or more areas of the firm's practiceDemonstrated ability to consistently deliver projects on-time, on-budget and exceeding client and firm expectations

  Education, Technology, and Experience 
   
 A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, interior design or planning is preferredA Project Manager should be able to effectively utilize current company software programs for word processing, e-mail, accounting, and information management. Working familiarity with design and production software to a point of being able to understand the capabilities and limitations of the programs and interact with the support staff in their use of the software is highly desirable. 
 Working Conditions At JMT, we prioritize a healthy work/life balance and offer a flexible hybrid working schedule. The selected candidate is expected to work in a JMT office location at least three days per week or as needed to perform assigned duties. While most of our work is desk-based, there may be times when standing, walking, bending and lifting of minimal weight are required. Our office environment is comfortable, has adequate lighting and temperature, and is free from noise, dust, and other hazards.
