Job Summary

The Loudoun County Department of General Services is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a full-time temporary Procurement Assistant vacancy within the Management Support Services Division. This is a 37.5 hour per week position, Monday - Friday, during core daytime business hours.

We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented individual who can multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of accuracy in their work, along with excellent spelling and grammar. Knowledge of construction industry terminology and the ability to comprehend complex purchases are pluses.

This position assists the department's Procurement Team in the following areas:
* Processing Requisitions (RQs) and Change Order Requests
* Data Entry using a computerized purchasing and accounting system (Oracle)
* Researching and obtaining vendor quotes for products and services
* Managing the department's fixed asset inventory and providing updates to senior management
* Coordinating with end users and project managers to gather status updates on purchase orders
* Providing courteous and timely customer service to both internal and external customers

This full-time temporary position is currently approved through June 30, 2026, with the possibility of an extension.


Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma and three (3) years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prefer at least six (6) months of government purchasing experience in processing requisitions, change order requests, and experience with computerized purchasing and accounting systems.

Direct experience working with Oracle Purchasing System is preferred.
Working knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel) and email is highly preferred.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Pre-employment criminal, credit, and DMV record background checks are required. Valid driver's license and good driving record required (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification).
