Scope of Leadership Role

Regal Rexnord (NYSE: RRX) is currently recruiting for a Director of Business Development and Strategy. This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Business Development and Strategy. This is a critical position to help drive pivotal change in RRX's strategic growth agenda.

This position will contribute to the company's overall strategic plan through both organic and inorganic growth and bring fresh perspectives and ideas, including both challenging the existing thinking and opening up new ways of seeing the market and opportunities, and specifically, to take advantage of the robust business development opportunities globally. This position will help support the definition and implantation of the company's growth strategy including identifying, evaluating and pursuing relevant organic growth and M&A opportunities. This individual will partner closely with corporate, segment, and business unit leaders to build out strategy and business development-related processes across the global enterprise with the intent of determining the next steps to continue Regal Rexnord's transformational growth and performance.

This individual will assist the Executive Leadership Team and business leaders withthe entire M&A process, including developing target lists, developing the investment thesis and supporting due diligence. The ideal candidate will also develop relationships with all business unit leaders and through them, a deep understanding of RRX's existing business divisions, including their market position and growth options. This individual will play a key role in developing a high impact strategy that may also include entry into new markets and creation of new business models, aligning the strategy with RRX's broader filters around business attractiveness, valuation and entry.

Expected travel is ~25% and will vary depending on deal activity.

Key Responsibilities

This individual will assist the Executive Leadership Team and business leaders with the entire M&A process, including developing target lists, developing the investment thesis and supporting due diligence. The ideal candidate will also develop relationships with all business unit leaders and through them, a deep understanding of RRX's existing business divisions, including their market position and growth options. This individual will play a key role in developing a high impact strategy that may also include entry into new markets and creation of new business models, aligning the strategy with RRX's broader filters around business attractiveness, valuation and entry.

Essential Responsibilities

Corporate Strategy: The ideal candidate will leverage superior analytical and problem solving skills to support the strategy function with strong focus on execution. Specific priorities include:

  • Owning the end-to-end annual strategic planning process

  • Working with senior leadership to crystallize, communicate and execute the company's business development strategy.

  • Exploring and executing acquisitions that are a strategic fit with the company's goals.

  • Driving implementation of key strategic initiatives.

  • Creating and executing short- and mid-term plans in line with the business's overall and long-term growth strategy.

Business Development: The ideal candidate will leverage strong interpersonal skills and an eye towards deal making to support new business ideas and bring them to a tangible business decision. This includes:

  • Driving the end-to-end M&A process

  • Supporting a broad range of transactions including mergers, acquisitions, minority investments and strategic alliances.

  • Striking deals with local partners, suppliers and customers and sometimes paving the way with different authorities.

  • Proving business cases before handing them over to project development, while retaining responsibility for concluding major associated deals.

  • Navigating licensures and contracts for Joint-Venture partnerships.

This individual must have the ability to synthesize data quickly and consolidate key messages that arise. Further, he/she should have the ability to think strategically about the company's competitive position and have the stature and character to instill trust with top managers as well as external stakeholders.

  • Strategic Orientation: The successful candidate will have demonstrated an ability to draw a high level of insight from multiple business situations to create and/or refine high-level market strategy. This individual will display a deep understanding of business strategy in multiple and integrated markets, competition, trends and other factors to develop a strategy that increases the competitive stance of the business. This individual will link strategy to a series of clearly actionable initiatives, taking into account the impact in many parts of the business. Most importantly, the successful candidate will have exemplary analytical and problem solving skills coupled with the ability to effectively communicate insights to internal parties and to marketplace partners.

  • Results Orientation: The successful candidate brings a strong track record of driving performance in a fast-paced, lean, global environment. This individual must demonstrate an "ownership mentality," with a passion for delivering on commitments, owning results, and "rolling up" their sleeves to drive performance. This includes establishing enterprise-wide stretch goals and championing change initiatives to help the company measure and achieve objectives and performance standards. The candidate will operate with the highest integrity and self-awareness.

  • Collaboration and Influencing: The successful candidate will be able to build trusted relationships and operates without boundaries. While the individual will not hesitate to take bold action when appropriate, the candidate will have a natural inclination toward leading through collaboration and will seek input and buy-in from key players across the company and their team. The ideal candidate will be adept at showing others how their objectives align with their own and be able to fine-tune communication to the specific audience.

Minimum Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree (business or engineering preferred)

  • MBA or similar advanced degree

Compensation Details:
The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation forall statewide locations across the United States. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors,including but not limited to the physical worksite location, candidate's skill set, level of experience,education and internal peer compensation comparisons.

Compensation Details:
$129,400 - $225,000
