Job Summary:

The Department of Radiology at University of Colorado is seeking applicants for a full-time Academic Diagnostic Medical Physicist and faculty member in the Division of Radiological Sciences. The candidate would be joining a team of seven diagnostic and nuclear medicine academic physicists supporting clinical operations at multiple University of Colorado Health hospitals in the Denver metro area and at Children's Hospital of Colorado. The candidate would be providing clinical support for diagnostic modalities and nuclear medicine.

This is a terrific opportunity to join a highly collaborative division and department at the Anschutz Medical Campus in the Denver metro area. The position also includes teaching, research, and leadership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

* Equipment testing for diagnostic imaging and nuclear medicine equipment

* Imaging protocol optimization

* Collaboration with physicians and radiologic technologists on clinical quality improvement projects

* Involvement in hospital and University safety and quality committees

* Teaching for our Radiology and Imaging Medical Physics residency programs

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado

We are involved in various research activities across the medical campus.

All division members hold faculty appointments at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. We collaborate on clinical, teaching, and research projects within the division and the department and throughout the Anschutz Medical Campus.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Assistant Professor:

* M.S. or Ph.D. in a physical science, or D.M.P.

* ABR-eligible for Diagnostic Medical Physics

* Qualification to perform ACR accreditation testing in CT

* Clinical experience with radiography, fluoroscopy, and CT imaging physics

* Ability to lift common imaging phantoms used in the course of equipment testing

Associate Professor:

* M.S. or Ph.D. in a physical science, or D.M.P.

* ABR-eligible for Diagnostic Medical Physics

* Qualification to perform ACR accreditation testing in CT

* Clinical experience with radiography, fluoroscopy, and CT imaging physics

* Ability to lift common imaging phantoms used in the course of equipment testing

* Appointment as an Associate Professor at another academic institution or

strong record of peer-reviewed publications and scholarly work

Professor:

* M.S. or Ph.D. in a physical science, or D.M.P.

* ABR-eligible for Diagnostic Medical Physics

* Qualification to perform ACR accreditation testing in CT

* Clinical experience with radiography, fluoroscopy, and CT imaging physics

* Ability to lift common imaging phantoms used in the course of equipment testing

* Appointment as Professor at another academic institution or

demonstrated national reputation in clinical medical physics

Preferred Qualifications:

* ABR or other appropriate board certification

* Experience with nuclear medicine equipment testing, per ACR standards

* Experience as an Authorized Medical Physicist for Y-90 radioembolization procedures

* Record of published peer-reviewed work and presentations

* Record of teaching medical physics to a variety of trainees

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Clinical, education, research, and leadership skills in Medical Physics

* Ability to work with a diverse population of healthcare providers and patients

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

High degree of emotional intelligence and substantial experience in interdisciplinary collaboration

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Assistant Professor: $152K - $234K

Associate Professor: $152K - $234K

Professor: $152K - $234K

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
