The Office of Enrollment and Student Success (
ESS) is a mission-driven organization providing a cohesive experience throughout all phases of the student lifecycle, from the admissions and enrollment process through graduation and beyond, by supporting a connected, comprehensive and student-centered approach to the student experience. An integral component to
ESS, the Office of Student Financial Assistance (
OSFA) administers over $430 million in financial aid (institutional grants and federal loans combined) to undergraduate and graduate students, and is responsible for ensuring adherence to federal, state and institutional regulations relating to student financial aid.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Student Financial Assistance, the Financial Aid Counseling & Partnerships Associate is responsible for relationship management and development of their designated student populations, customer, or programs.
Financial Aid Processing
* Demonstrates a firm knowledge of financial aid servicing, counseling, awarding, needs assessment and packaging.
* Understands the academic timelines/calendar for all designated student populations.
* Creates and manages the project plan for their designated student population, or customer.
Compliance:
* Demonstrates the appropriate state-level finance issues and professional conduct to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
* Identifies financial aid questions, issues/concerns for relevant scholarships.
Communications:
* Acts as liaison with all the designated student population programs.
* Provides timely, professional, and helpful customer service to students and staff.
* Builds relationships with key contacts within the academic schools and with campus partners.
* Delivers polished and engaging presentations to different audiences.
* Manages stakeholder engagement plan.
Data Management:
* Uses GW systems in Office of Financial Aid to record, track, and analyze student questions, and engagements.
* Collects and analyzes relevant student data.
* Performs data collection, data analysis, and effective data visualization.
* Conducts qualitative data analysis (such as conducting focus groups; structured or unstructured interviews; short questionnaires).
The position is based at GW's Foggy Bottom Campus in Washington, DC. The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position. |
| Minimum Qualifications: |
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |
