Job Description Summary:
The Milken Institute School of Public Health ( GWSPH) is committed to excellence in scholarship to advance the health of the populations of our local, national, and global communities. The vision of the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics aims to improve public health through excellence in education and teaching in biostatistics and bioinformatics, transformative scientific research, and dedicated service to the university, profession, and community.

The Biostatistician I's responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the PI (Dr. Pan) in analyzing clinical trial and observational data.
  • Fitting machine learning models on large-scale heterogeneous data sources.
  • Attending weekly group meetings.
  • Discussing issues in the pipeline.
  • Writing scientific reports and manuscripts for publication.


Performs other related duties. The omission of specific duties does preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a MS or MPH in Biostatistics, Statistics, Health Data Science, Epidemiology, or related field. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Programming in Python/R/SAS, Data Analysis of complex trial data, Report/Presentation/Manuscript Preparation.
  • MS in Biostatistics.
  • MS in Computer Science.

Hiring Range $23.30 - $44.69
