About the Position...

The Underwriter II - Portfolio Risk Management (U/W II - PRM) strengthens working relationships that reflect respect, integrity, and excellence while working closely with the Sr. Underwriter - Sr. Team Lead and Director of Portfolio Risk Management to effectively and accurately evaluate portfolio risk. The U/W II supports complex loan structures that include but are not limited to commercial real estate loans, C&I loans, and business lines of credit. The U/W II - PRM will evaluate risk through spreading and analyzing financial statements and completing annual review credit presentations which monitors covenant compliance, outlines the sources of repayment, identifies risks, and recommends the appropriate Risk Grade. The U/W II - PRM assists Client Relationship Manager (CRM) in monitoring compliance with loan terms and interacts with clients professionally to discuss annual reviews and obtain and evaluate appropriate financial information relative to portfolio monitoring.The U/W II - PRM demonstrates strong teamwork and adaptability to support their function and to assist the Sr. Underwriter - Sr. Team Lead and the Director of Portfolio Risk Management with other duties as assigned. All duties are performed accurately, timely, and efficiently, and according to Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.


Qualifications

You are a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who thrives in a team environment. You also have the following:

Education & Certification(s) Required:



  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred, or some college courses along with an additional 4 years of progressive credit analysis and/or underwriting experience at a financial institution.


Knowledge Required:



  • Strong knowledge of banking and lending operations and procedures, as well as the various regulations and standard banking practices.


Experience Required:



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the lending area of a financial institution as a Credit Analyst.


Skills & Abilities Required:



  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business development skills.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and handle credit requests.
  • Good organizational skillsand attention to detail.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software package, primarily strong Word and Excel skills.
  • Professional appearance, dress and attitude.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer, adding machine, copy machine, fax machine, and telephone.
