Perform code and non-code welding procedures involving complex tubing/component alignments and joint fit-ups. Work includes welding of pressure vessels, tube layouts, and various metals. Responsibility, autonomy, and complexity increase across five levels in alignment with the Job Ladder and Training Matrix.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Welders are responsible for producing high-quality welds on pressure vessels and assemblies per engineering standards and welding codes. The position spans five levels with increasing independence, technical skills, and leadership expectations. Development is supported by a skill progression matrix and hands-on evaluations.

This role offers a high level of complexity and variety, with opportunities to work on a wide range of products. No two days are the same-this is far from an assembly line environment. The position emphasizes independent work, though collaboration with team members is occasionally required. It's ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, ever-changing setting and enjoys tackling diverse challenges.

General Duties (All Levels)

  1. Use MIG, TIG, and Stick welding across various metals and thicknesses.
  1. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and fabrication drawings.
  1. Operate grinders, weld positioners, and semi-/automated welding systems.
  1. Lift up to 50 pounds and operate cranes with proper certification.
  1. Follow all safety rules and use PPE consistently.
  1. Maintain tools, organize workspace, and document work as required.

Welder I

  1. Assist with basic welding setups and procedures.
  1. Learn TIG and Laser Welder techniques under supervision.
  1. Practice weld prep, joint fit-ups, and light grinding.
  1. Read and follow basic blueprints and welding symbols.
