OIT) is Rutgers' enterprise IT office.
OIT provides university wide services and support and collaborates with department and unit IT professionals on projects and initiatives for the Rutgers community. OIT's services and systems include the Rutgers network; email and calendaring systems; IDs/passwords and identity management; data centers; computer labs; help desk support; wireless connectivity; a software portal; information security, risk, and compliance services; research computing; and many others. The Network Access Technologies wireless team in the Office of Information Technology Enterprise Infrastructure unit is responsible for the research, development, and support of wireless networking at Rutgers University. The team provides services including RF site surveying of buildings, RF design and implementation of networks, optimization of coverage, capacity, and performance, and monitoring and troubleshooting of wireless issues. This position will manage the team responsible for delivering wireless network services to the University community and will serve as the subject matter expert on implementing and tuning wireless network infrastructure in the field. |

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Manager, Wireless Network for the Office of Information Technology. Reporting to the Manager of Network Access, this position will work within Network Access Technologies, supporting large-scale, distributed, stable, fault-tolerant wireless networks and systems that support the University's missions in Teaching & Learning, Research, and community outreach. Responsible for the overall design, implementation, management, and support of critical wireless network architecture.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Manages systems and services providing critical wireless network services.
- Scales and evolve systems sustainably, advocating for changes that improve reliability and agility.
- Produces high-performance wireless network designs and manage their implementation through cooperation with contractors, stakeholders, and coworkers.
- Engages in and improve the whole lifecycle for both wireless network infrastructure and supporting services.
- Maintains, monitors, and improves wireless systems and services for NOA and Enterprise Infrastructure.
- Works with teams to support the automation of routine tasks such as reporting, provisioning, and monitoring.
- Develops documentation to facilitate the transfer of knowledge with other staff.
- Supervises staff.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree and 7 years of networking experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
