THE POSITION
-
The Department of Land Use and Transportation (LUT) has an exciting opportunity for the position of Administrative Specialist II (AS II) within the Planning and Development Services Division!
The Position
The AS II performs a variety of administrative support duties of moderate complexity requiring knowledge of the work unit, LUT services and procedures, and operating details. Incumbents greet customers, prepare correspondence and or other documents using Microsoft Office 365, schedule and coordinate meetings, and will have considerable public contact in explaining policies and procedures as well as provide excellent customer service to the public and internal customers.
This position works in the front reception area and also supports team projects such as mailings, archiving, will be responsible for intake land use application and fees, answer basic questions about land use procedures, as well as help develop and create front desk procedures. This person will complete general administrative tasks as assigned, which may include routing mail to appropriate staff member, make copies, scan and general filing, answer phones, help schedule and coordinate meetings which entails working with other departments.
This position is currently eligible for either a Monday-Thursday 4x10 work schedule or a traditional 5-day work week with one remote day.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent; and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience providing administrative or clerical support.
- Possession of Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) or other applicable certifications may substitute for up to one (1) year of the experience requirement.
