What You've Accomplished



  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, a related engineering discipline, or comparable experience in lieu of degree
  • At least 15 years of directly related experience
  • Expert knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques, criteria and analysis
  • Exceptional knowledge and recognized technical expertise of a technical specialty
  • Ability to set strategy and vision for medium to large size organization
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with all levels of staff and management, vendors and customers
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to manage multiple tasks and projects through managers/supervisors
  • Excellent problem identification and resolution skills

You may have also acquired the following skills:



  • PWR Experts - In depth understanding of pressurizer control, steam generator performance, and primary loop dynamics
  • BWR Experts- Deep knowledge of two-phase flow, reactor core stability, and feedwater/reactor pressure control systems
  • Experience with reactor analysis codes- RELAP5, TRACE, PARCS, SIMULATIVE, VIPRE, or equivalent
  • PE License preferred
  • Strong analytical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams, and interface with utilities, and regulatory bodies
  • Proven ability to solve high-impact technical issues under time pressure
  • Demonstrated leadership during refueling outages or emergent plant conditions.
  • Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, and NRC regulations.
  • Experience presenting complex technical concepts to executives or non-technical audiences.



Your Opportunity

This full-time role is about making an impact on people's lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Reactor Services Technical Expert in Lynchburg, VA (remote work will also be considered), you will be part of the proven team in the Installed Base Business Unit. Your work will include:


  • Serving as the primary subject-matter expert (SME) for either PWR or BWR reactor systems
  • Performing and review reactor physics, thermal-hydraulic, and transient analyses. Support licensing and regulatory interactions with the NRC or international authorities
  • Providing technical leadership during plant outages, modifications, and safety analyses
  • Training and mentor junior engineers and technical staff
  • Authoring and approve design documentation, calculation packages, and safety evaluations
  • Supporting proposal development and client interface for engineering service projects

Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $146,000 - $206,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
