The Optical Module Group is looking for a motivated test and characterization engineer to support development of our control ASIC. This role offers the opportunity to join a world-class team at the forefront of high-speed analog and mixed-signal design, where you'll gain hands-on experience in characterizing high-precision data converters (DACs and ADCs) and deepen your understanding of real-world circuit behavior. You'll independently lead lab characterization and design validation efforts, collaborate with design and systems teams to define experiments and test plans, and develop automated scripts for efficient data acquisition. You'll also build and maintain test infrastructure, perform statistical analysis to extract performance trends, correlate lab and ATE measurements with simulation data, assist with analog/mixed-signal simulations, and contribute to layout tasks-accelerating your growth in ASIC development and validation.

  • Independently lead lab characterization and design validation for analog/mixed-signal ASICs.
  • Collaborate with design and systems teams to define experiments, test plans, and data collection strategies.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts for efficient data acquisition.
  • Build and maintain test infrastructure, including both hardware setups and software tools.
  • Perform statistical analysis and interpret measurement results to extract design insights and performance trends.
  • Correlate ATE/Lab measurements with simulation data to validate circuit behavior and identify discrepancies.
  • Assist with analog/mixed-signal simulations and post-processing of results.
  • Shadow layout engineers and contribute to layout tasks as needed.
  • Proficient in operating lab instruments: oscillators, power supplies, multimeters, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Experience in:
    • ADC/DAC characterization and debug, including linearity, dynamic range, and spectral performance metrics.
    • Noise measurements and analysis in mixed-signal environments (e.g., SNR, PSRR, crosstalk).
  • Strong foundation in electronic measurement methodologies and signal integrity principles.
  • Solid programming skills in Python, VB.NET and/or MATLAB for test automation.
  • Working knowledge of analog/mixed-signal circuit design and simulation.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive attitude and ownership mindset.
