Security Officer - Access Control

As a Security Officer - Access Control in Gladys, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor entry points, manage badge access, and assist with alarm panel responses. Your presence and routine patrols help to deter security-related incidents while you deliver outstanding customer service and clear communication. You'll have the opportunity to use computer or tablet technology as part of your daily responsibilities, contributing to a supportive team environment where people come first and integrity is at the core of everything we do.

What You'll Do:

• Monitor and control access points at the manufacturing and industrial location, verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized individuals.
• Follow site-specific policies and procedures to maintain security-related protocols throughout the facility.
• Provide customer service to all personnel and visitors by answering questions and assisting with directions or information as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Document and report any irregularities, suspicious activities, or security-related incidents in accordance with Allied Universal and client site requirements.
• Collaborate with on-site personnel and Allied Universal management to address ongoing security-related needs or issues.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
