Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate's, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure: Must hold a current RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure, and meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Prolonged standing and walking during shifts
  • Must be able to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat

Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
  • Additional certifications may be required based on unit, or obtained within department timeframe:
    • ACLS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, CPHON, OCN, PALS, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E., C-EFM, or other unit-specific certifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education, licensure, experience, and certifications may vary by unit and are preferred but not required
