GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Business Development Director plays a pivotal role in driving the organization's strategic growth within the healthcare market. This position is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing new business opportunities that align with the organization's mission, service line strategies, and long-term goals. The Director partners with clinical, operational, and financial leaders to expand market presence, strengthen referral networks, and enhance patient access through innovative partnerships and service development initiatives.



PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
  2. Develops and implements strategic business plans to expand service lines, enhance market share, and achieve revenue and patient volume targets.
  3. Conducts comprehensive market assessments, competitive analyses, and feasibility studies to identify opportunities for growth across regions or specialties.
  4. Collaborates with executive and clinical leadership to prioritize growth initiatives that align with organizational strategy and community health needs.
  5. Establishes and maintains strategic relationships with physicians, health systems, post-acute care providers, payers, and community organizations to foster collaboration and referral growth.
  6. Leads negotiations and contracting efforts related to joint ventures, affiliations, and service line partnerships.
  7. Serves as the primary point of contact for external partners, ensuring a high level of responsiveness, professionalism, and follow-through.
  8. Oversee the development of new programs or service lines, from concept through implementation, ensuring operational readiness and financial viability.
  9. Partners with clinical and operational teams to evaluate resource needs, staffing models, and facility requirements for new initiatives.
  10. Monitors the success of launched programs using data-driven metrics such as patient volumes, referral trends, and ROI.
  11. Utilizes market analytics, demographic data, and payer trends to guide business development strategies.
  12. Collaborates with finance and analytics teams to develop pro formas and business cases to support strategic initiatives.
  13. Presents insights and recommendations to executive leadership and governance bodies to inform decision-making.
  14. Partners with marketing and communications to develop outreach strategies and materials that support growth initiatives.
  15. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.
  16. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

  14. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or a related field required. Minimum of four (4) years of healthcare experience required.
