TRAVEL: 5%

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Program Manager, Senior in the AMRAAM program supporting the Weapons Superiority Division at Robins AFB, GA.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Bachelors in related field + 25 yrs relevant experience (RE) or Masters in related field + 15 yrs RE.
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Active SECRET clearance required prior to start
  • Experience supporting a range of DoD acquisition activities through various stages of the Defense Acquisition cycle

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Previous experience with weapons systems, weapons or missiles.
  • Apply a full range of acquisition program management philosophy, policies, and procedures, to perform a wide range of acquisition management activities in support of the existing and future Weapons Superiority Division AMRAAM programs.
  • Understand current DoD and AF-specific acquisition regulations, guidelines, and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply knowledge of and utilize qualitative and quantitative techniques for gathering, analyzing, and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of AMRAAM acquisition programs. Apply the knowledge of support activities that assist the program manager in assessing what programs are within schedule and cost baselines and recommend viable solutions to problems and the pursuit of alternative courses of action.
  • Plan, research, analyze and assess system acquisition in terms of development, production and deployment of weapons systems and associated equipment; formulate plans; and recommend effective strategies in meeting cost, schedule and performance objectives.
  • Support and develop acquisition reports, including statutory and regulatory reports (e.g. DAES and MAR).
  • Support and develop various briefings/schedules of program status and acquisition tasks to senior management.
  • Support program management reviews, senior level meeting/reviews and IMP/IMS reviews.
  • Support implementation and execution of Agile software development processes in concert with Government and weapon system prime contractors and suppliers.
  • Plan, evaluate and implement program acquisition strategies to meet DoD 5000.2 guidance.
