Job Summary

Loudoun County Public Library (LCPL) is currently seeking to fill a full-time Accountant I position.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Processing payments for library departmental expense invoices
  • Assisting with departmental purchasing activities
  • Maintaining detailed and audit-ready financial files
  • Serving as a liaison between Library Administration and front-line staff for cash-handling and financial issues
  • Documenting processes, policies, and procedure changes
  • Analyzing transaction data to ensure procedural compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local requirements
  • Researching and resolving departmental payment issues
  • Performing financial accounting and assisting in month-end and year-end closing processes for all departmental accounts
  • Performing other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate must have an acute attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Must have technical skills, the ability to work independently and as a member of a team, and the ability to communicate ideas clearly, accurately, and effectively.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate's degree in accounting or related field and two (2) years of related work experience.
