DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Identify training needs based on current strategic organizational and departmental goals in collaboration with organizational leaders and subject matter experts. Identify the target audiences' training needs utilizing needs assessment, focus groups, and other identified methods. Apply tested instructional design theories, practices and methods to create engaging learner activities and design curriculum and program content to create and update education materials, class plans, training manuals, e-Learning modules, and videos to enhance retention and transfer of knowledge. Ensure materials are current, relevant, meet the stated objectives and are compliant with regulatory and industry standards. Identify instructional outcomes, create training content, and develop evaluation methods to assess effectiveness, ensure objectives are achieved, and maintain accurate, current materials. Assures completion of training is documented and assists with report generation as required. Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games, etc.). Maintain project documentation and course folders. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills, grammar, spelling, punctuation, usage & pronunciation skills. Ability to utilize multiple computer programs, such as Microsoft Office and other types of training/authoring software. Proven work experience in instructional design and with instructional technology. Lesson and curriculum planning skills. Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge. Experience with authoring software and familiarity with learning management systems. Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, Desktop Publishing) and the ability to storyboard. Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Ability to successfully interact and coordinate with other team members and departments. Ability to understand and retain knowledge of complex processes. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Requires a bachelor's degree in instructional design, educational technology, education, adult learning, or related area. Three or more years of instructional design experience with an emphasis in adult education and instruction. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree preferred. Experience using Captivate, Articulate Storyline or other authoring software to develop training modules is preferred.
