Job Description:

The Job

In this role, you'll provide key leadership for strategy and operations within SCAN's Data & Analytics team. You will help prioritize SCAN's analytics and AI strategic agenda, own the intake-to-value pipeline, govern the portfolio, and continually improve the team's operating model. You will partner with business and IT leaders to translate objectives into actionable roadmaps, ensure delivery readiness across a SAFe Agile release train, and help cultivate a data-driven culture to support SCAN's mission of keeping seniors healthy and independent.

You Will

  • Lead & Develop Team - Direct strategy and operations of our D&A team to foster a high-performing, innovative team culture.
  • Strategic Planning & Business Partnership - Help set the analytics strategic agenda aligned to the broader enterprise strategy by serving as a primary relationship manager with executives, leading quarterly planning, and owning OKR alignment and benefit-realization.
  • Own Intake and Prioritization - Oversee the intake funnel, score demand, balance capacity, and steward initiatives from conception through implementation via SAFe Agile and Program Increment (PI) commitments.
  • Translate Strategy to User Stories - Oversee the conversion of business outcomes into epics, features, and detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria & 'definition of done.'
  • Roadmap, Portfolio & Backlog Governance - Play a driving role in the team's roadmap and overall portfolio management; maintain quarterly PI plans, long-term roadmaps, and track value delivery, velocity, and risk.
  • Technology & Vendor Assessments - Determine what new technologies are needed to achieve team and enterprise goals; lead RFI/RFP processes, ROI analysis, and contract negotiations for new D&A tools and services.
  • Operating-Model Stewardship - Define and continuously refine delivery standards, SDLC guardrails, and cross-team ways-of-working; ensure alignment with Enterprise IT and SCAN's broader SAFe Agile methodology.
  • Lightweight Solution Architecture - Facilitate rapid mock-ups and conceptual designs to validate feasibility and business fit to ensure development of readiness before engineering begins.
  • Financial & FinOps Oversight - Manage team budgets, optimize vendor spending, and ensure ROI of team activities and investments.
  • Coach Agile & Data Literacy - Champion SAFe, product mindset, and data-driven decision-making through training, communities of practice, and change-management initiatives.

Your Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors in Business, Computer Science, Analytics, or related; Master's or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years in data & analytics, digital product, or technology strategy roles, including 5+ years leading high-performing teams.
  • 3+ years in healthcare payer, provider, or other highly regulated industry.
  • Proven portfolio management in a SAFe or comparable scaled-agile environment.
  • Hands-on leadership with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, Databricks) and legacy systems (SQL Server).
  • Track record of successful vendor evaluations, contract negotiations, and technology onboarding.
  • SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) preferred
  • Strategic & Systems Thinking: Connect enterprise goals to an actionable, measurable analytics roadmap.
  • AI & Analytics Thought Leadership: Actively monitors emerging trends in AI, advanced analytics, and data product management to determine how innovative capabilities can be applied to drive strategic value.
  • Portfolio & Backlog Tools: Expert with Azure DevOps or similar SAFe-enabled platforms.
  • Data Lifecycle Fluency: Solid grasp of data warehousing, data governance, BI, and ML/MLOps best practices.
  • Executive Communication: Clear storyteller who influences C-suite, business, and technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical & Financial Acumen: Ability to model TCO/ROI and provide strategic guidance on cloud FinOps optimization.
  • Change Leadership: Demonstrated success guiding organizations through process and culture transformation.
  • People Development: Mentors diverse teams; builds a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Resilience & Prioritization: Thrives amid ambiguity, rapidly shifting priorities, and complex regulatory constraints.
