THE POSITION

We are looking for a dynamic Quality Supervisor to establish BPI's quality assurance system and team, directly influencing customer satisfaction and site financial performance. You will be the driving force behind our continuous improvement efforts and defect reduction initiatives, establishing a robust and effective Quality Management System (QMS).This role requires a leader who can educate and train employees, inspire a culture of quality, and implement improvement activities such as Kaizen and Six Sigma to elevate the performance of DPO's value streams.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering is highly preferred
  • Significant experience (6-10+ years) in a relevant manufacturing environment may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control and/or quality assurance within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Experience in a highly regulated sector (e.g., oil & gas, aerospace, nuclear) is essential.
  • Practical experience in a precision engineering environment, specifically with CNC machining (3 & 5 axis) and metal cutting processes.
  • Experience working directly with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues and manage expectations.

Industry Standards Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of industry-specific codes and standards, including ISO 9001, API Spec Q1/Q2, ISO 29001, ASME (e.g., B31.3, VIII, IX), and AWS D1.1.

Inspection & Testing Proficiency:

  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proficiency with standard inspection equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges, comparators) and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).

Quality Management Systems (QMS):

  • Strong understanding and experience with implementing, maintaining, and auditing QMS requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Experience with root cause analysis (RCA) and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 5 Why, 8D, Fishbone, FMEA) to implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), control charts, and quality improvement methodologies like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus).

Leadership and Soft Skills:

  • Leadership and Communication:Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of quality inspectors and engineers. Must have excellent communication skills to liaise with all levels of staff, management, and external clients.
  • Problem-Solving:Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify quality issues and drive data-driven solutions.
  • Organizational Skills:Highly organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • System Leadership:Develop, implement, manage, and integrate a comprehensive QMS for DPO, serving as the primary quality control resource for problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement.
  • Process Excellence:Design, implement, and document procedures for process control, improvement, testing, and inspection. Establish and implement key metrics (process capability, control charts) to monitor system effectiveness and support data-driven decisions.
  • Problem Solving:Lead root-cause analysis and problem-solving activities to identify and implement effective corrective actions and sustainable process improvements.
  • Stakeholder Management:Interface with customer and supplier quality representatives, manage vendor performance, and ensure all purchase orders, contracts, and change requests align with stringent quality provisions.
  • Team Management:Manage quality control personnel on a day-to-day basis, participate in engineering projects to represent quality assurance, and report key quality trends and losses directly to management.
