About This Role

The Division of Human Resources is actively seeking a Time and Leave Specialist to be responsible for assisting in the administration and maintenance of the University's Universal Time and Leave System, FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act), and other university leave programs. This role serves as the liaison between Benefits and Time and Leave teams, ensuring system improvements and effective support for time and leave processes.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Timekeeping System Administration

  • Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of the universal timekeeping system in ADP Workforce Manager.
  • Provide system support to departments, resolve payroll issues, and ensure timely timesheet processing.
  • Train HR staff on timekeeping procedures and maintain system documentation.


2. Leave & FMLA Administration

  • Assist with FMLA and other leave administration, track leave hours, and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Monitor return-to-work dates and compile FMLA case data for reporting.
  • Communicate with employees on leave policies and provide backup support for FMLA administration.


3. HR Support

  • Collaborate with Benefits and Payroll teams to improve timekeeping and leave processes.
  • Support workers' compensation administration and assist with other HR initiatives.


About Us

The Division of Human Resources at Kansas State University is made up of approximately 50 staff members. Specific oversight includes ASC-HR, Benefits, Compensation and Organizational Effectiveness, Employee Relations and Engagement, ERP Systems, Resource Center Operations, Talent Acquisition, Talent and Organizational Development, and Time and Leave.


Worksite Description

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.


What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Requires an associate degree and one year of relevant experience. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to determine priorities, exercise sound judgement, and work independently
  • Willingness to learn new software, develop additional skills, and engage in professional development
  • Ability to exercise discretion and uphold confidentiality
  • Demonstrated background or knowledge of human resource processes and policies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
