Overview

Nakupuna Companies is seeking Chemical Logistics Center (CLC) Technicians to support the operation of the Chemical Logistics Center at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Western Currency Facility (BEP WCF) in Fort Worth, Texas. CLC Technicians help ensure a continuous supply of solvents and chemicals to production and non-production departments and support compliant storage, handling, treatment, and disposal of regulated wastes.

This role is hands-on and highly operational, working in the Flammable Liquid Storage Building (FLSB), Consolidated Chemical Storage Area (CCSA), Solvent Dispensing Area, and Central Waste Accumulation Area (CWAA) to support safe and efficient chemical logistics in a high-security manufacturing environment.



Responsibilities

Flammable Liquid Storage Building (FLSB)

    Unload and position totes and drums in the FLSB and maintain orderly storage.

  • Conduct inventories of solvents and flammable liquids and ensure containers are in good condition and properly labeled.

  • Inspect and maintain secondary containment and support operation of solvent distillation units and solvent transfer systems as directed.

Solvent Dispensing System

  • Operate and maintain the solvent dispensing system, ensuring cleanliness and functionality of dispensing stations.

  • Collect empty solvent containers from production areas, dispense solvent into containers, and ensure proper labeling and documentation.

  • Measure and record solvent quantities dispensed and support solvent tracking spreadsheets and data entry requirements.

Consolidated Chemical Storage Area (CCSA)

  • Unload, stage, and store chemical containers in designated locations per the CCSA plan and MSS locator/lot system.

  • Maintain segregation of incompatible chemicals and support monthly physical inventories.

  • Fulfill chemical requests from departments and ensure timely delivery of materials.

Central Waste Accumulation Area (CWAA)

  • Move regulated waste from SAAs and drop-off areas to CWAA, log containers, and ensure proper labeling and storage.

  • Set up empty drums at waste accumulation points, inspect and maintain secondary containment, and assist in preparing waste for shipment.

  • Assist in operation of the solvent wipe centrifuge and manage recovered solvent as hazardous waste per procedures.

General CLC Duties

  • Conduct daily forklift inspections, perform basic maintenance (e.g., recharging), and ensure equipment is ready for use.

  • Support laboratory services by preparing waste or chemical samples for analysis when needed.

  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas throughout the CLC and participate in safety meetings and training.

  • Provide additional support as requested to meet Government schedules and mission needs.



Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and basic understanding of Federal and Texas waste management regulations preferred.

  • Experience in chemical logistics, warehouse operations, or industrial material handling strongly preferred.

  • Strong inventory and recordkeeping skills, including familiarity with spreadsheets and/or inventory systems.

  • Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and effectively.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and environmental compliance.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team in a highly regulated environment.

Education and Experience Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training in logistics, warehouse operations, or environmental/chemical handling is a plus.

  • Experience in a chemical, manufacturing, logistics, or environmental operations setting preferred.

Clearance

  • This position requires an active or the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Location

  • Work is performed on Government site at the BEP Western Currency Facility in Fort Worth, Texas, primarily during normal operating hours (06:00-15:30). Some overtime may be required to support production and shipment schedules.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in warehouse and industrial environments, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with appropriate material-handling equipment or team assistance.

  • Ability to work around chemicals and waste materials while wearing appropriate PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, and other protective equipment.
