Security Officer - Public Transit Patrol

As a Security Officer - Government Perimeter Patrol in East Saint Louis, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. You will conduct routine patrols, interact with the public, and provide outstanding customer service. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $19.50 / Hour

1 Year Security Experience Required

Must be comfortable working in all types of weather, outdoor position

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activity, hazards, or conditions to Allied Universal management and/or client representatives.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points as assigned.
• Maintain detailed and accurate logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and/or observations.
• Communicate professionally with visitors, staff, and/or law enforcement as situations require.
• Follow all Allied Universal and client policies, procedures, and post orders while on duty.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
