DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position's focus is overseeing accounting operations and financial reporting for SERS Defined Contribution Plan and Deferred Compensation Plan. The group maintains internal controls and general ledgers, oversees Third-Party Administrator (TPA) processing of employer contributions, participant contributions, benefit payments, investment activity, and expenses, etc. The group records and reconciles financial data, and collaborates with internal and external groups when conducting operations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week, Monday through Friday.
- A work schedule beginning and ending between 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., inclusive, with a half-hour or one-hour meal period will be considered, dependent on operational requirements. The requested work schedule may not end prior to 4:00 p.m.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time (hybrid telework schedule), depending on operational needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you must work on-site at the work location specified in this job posting. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Accountant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
- Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
