Overview
The Agency of Transportation (AOT) has an exciting opportunity available for an individual with experience in finance and/or accounting to join our Accounting Unit in the position of Financial Manager III. This position is responsible for the supervision of 3 financial professionals within the Accounting Unit. The positions in this section focus on the reconciliation of various complex internal accounting systems, processing expenditure transfers within the financial systems, compiling data for energy tracking, and working closely with the Agency's Department of Motor Vehicles reconciling internal financial systems. This position develops and maintains extensive intricate Excel spreadsheets. This position also completes tasks and reports for the year end State of Vermont ACFR. The ideal candidate will have experience with STARS, VISION, VT Buys and possess extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, working knowledge of other Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, and Access), strong math skills and high attention to detail. They will have the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders. The ability to work effectively under tight time restraints and meet deadlines is required. An ability to effectively supervise is also needed. Work is performed in a standard office setting. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a bachelor's degree in any discipline that includes or is supplemented by 20 credit hours in accounting AND three (3) or more years of professional level accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing, fiscal analysis, federal program fiscal administration or other professional level fiscal operations experience INCLUDING experience managing programs, funding sources or staff. OR Bachelor's degree in any discipline AND five (5) or more years of professional level accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing, fiscal analysis, federal program fiscal administration or other professional level fiscal operations experience INCLUDING experience managing programs, funding sources or staff. OR Associate's degree AND seven (7) years or more of professional level accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing, fiscal analysis, federal program fiscal administration or other professional level fiscal operations experience which has included experience managing programs, funding sources or staff. OR High School diploma AND nine (9) years or more of professional level accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing, fiscal analysis, federal program fiscal administration or other professional level fiscal operations experience which has included experience managing programs, funding sources or staff. OR One years as a Financial Manager II with the State of Vermont. Special Requirements
