How can you make an impact?

The Program Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, and tracking of programs within our Higher Education Business Unit. This role will partner with technical product management, architecture, engineering, and the business to provide leadership in delivering innovative digital solutions to our customers. This position will not only focus on the planning, communication and coordination of large-scale software development programs but also beyond the end date to the transitional and operational elements. This role is accountable to sponsors for schedule and quality of all program elements. This role may also be accountable for platform level program leadership, including resolving risks, providing leadership to agile teams, and providing clear status and communications. This role requires a strong user focus.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead delivery of large, cross-team programs by driving project initiation, milestone tracking, risk management, dependency coordination, and on-time, high-quality delivery from development through testing and release.
  • Navigate complex cross-project dependencies, proactively identifying issues and escalating risks across teams, programs, and leadership as needed to ensure alignment and continuity.
  • Drive scaled agile planning and execution for programs requiring it, championing agile methodologies, adherence to the SDLC, and continuous improvement across teams.
  • Partner closely with product and engineering leadership to provide guidance across multiple platform teams, including facilitating cross-team ceremonies such as platform-wide demos and alignment meetings.
  • Serve as Scrum Master for 1-2 teams as needed, ensuring effective agile ceremonies, maintaining prioritized backlogs, documented delivery plans, iteration planning, and dependency visibility.
  • Own and manage program-level communication and transparency, ensuring stakeholder buy-in, timely issue resolution, risk mitigation, customer support prioritization, SLA adherence, and support for Product Operations reporting and metrics.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Deep knowledge of software development and adoption, ideally within EdTech, with cross-disciplinary understanding of product management, engineering, and quality assurance.
  • Minimum of 7 years of agile project management experience with progressively increasing responsibility, including managing project scope, timelines, and business requirements; hands-on experience as a Scrum Master required.
  • Demonstrated leadership and influence in matrixed environments, with strong skills in negotiation, conflict management, collaboration, organizational effectiveness, and critical thinking.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, able to prioritize effectively, work well under pressure, and remain flexible and adaptable to evolving tools, processes, and ways of working.
  • Excellent communicator with an open, inclusive style, capable of engaging and influencing a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders while building alignment and consensus.
  • Growth-oriented mindset with a positive attitude, openness to change, willingness to travel occasionally, and familiarity with agile frameworks, scaled agile practices, certifications (CSM and/or PMI-ACP), and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Slack.
