The Division of Student Affairs comprises over 30 departments, each responsible for providing various student support, services, and educational programs accessible to the university community. | Job Duties |
This position copartners with the Front Desk Manager to assist with student room assignments and procedures used in the assignment area. These responsibilities include overseeing or monitoring cashiering activities, charges, rosters, correspondence, telephone, email inquiries, meeting with students and parents, and processing room assignments, and the student re-application process.
- Establish and coordinate all internal processes related to on-campus housing assignments for students for the Academic Year (fall and spring) using StarRez and multiple shared drives and Microsoft Teams.
- Meet all Cashier's Office deadlines for student's financial accounts regarding housing assignments - to avoid class schedule drops and unnecessary issue of refunds.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with campus partners within Athletics, Living Learning Communities, the Honors College, and Global Affairs office, with regards to completion of housing contracts and placement of their students within the residence halls. Create and support data systems to track LLC students/ groupings.
- Manage cashiering activities, housing fees, building rosters, correspondence to students and campus partners, and telephone and email inquiries.
- Process daily updates to housing assignments including housing contract cancellations, Campus Living Conduct removals, Resident Advisor changes, and room changes.
- Directly supervise one full-time professional staff member and co-supervise six student workers who serve as the first point of contact for the Assignments area of Campus Living.
- Represent the department at university events including orientation, answering student and family questions.
- Provide customer service and guidance to students and families regarding university policy and Campus Living procedures.
- Work with a range of internal and external customers explaining deadlines, problem solving and working to meet the needs of customers.
- This position will document processes, maintain written records and explain processes to external customers who may be unfamiliar with the university environment.
