The Contribution You'll bring to this Role:

Basic Concepts, Inc. (BCI) is seeking anentry level Manufacturing Engineerto join their operation in Anderson, SC. TheManufacturing Engineerperforms functions including aid in developing new products and processes. Under broad direction, works from requirements or instructions to design and develop new components or redesign existing components and processes to improve company products and profitability. Determines and establishes specifications through engineering calculations and layouts. Oversees the assembly and tests of engineering prototypes.Works closely with Operations Team to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency in the manufacturing plant. Provides guidance to Operations Team on unique product specifications.

What You'll Do at Justrite:



  • Prepare drawings, procedures, sketches, etc., necessary for both day-to-day Manufacturing as well as in the development of new products or redesign of existing products and processes.


  • Ability to write and edit technical instructions in plain language for maximum Operator engagement.


  • Involvement in establishing Quality criteria and testing/quantification methods to validate products meet & exceed intended specifications.


  • Review and calculate labor, material and other production costs.


  • Analyze and plan product workflow, equipment placement, and space/egress requirements to maximize manufacturing efficiency.


  • Conducts continuous search of new materials, processes, and procedures for new ideas to enhance and improve existing products with the following considerations: Chemical compatibility, Environmental impacts, and manufacturing processes, i.e. fabrication, plastic heat welding, coated fabric converting, material handling and automation.


  • Works with the rest of the Engineering Team to create and perform tests, record results, create written reports with data and statistics for publishing internally and externally.


  • Participate in Va-Ve and Continuous Improvement activities to maximize profitability and provide maximum end customer satisfaction.


Your Skills and Expertise:

To ensure your success from day one in this role, Justrite requires the following qualifications at a minimum:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar Engineering discipline required. Courses in Production and Process Engineering would be a plus.


  • Knowledge and experience in the areas of automated forming equipment, automated welding, blanking lines, and other fabrication processes including programming and troubleshooting of such processes would be a plus.
  • Experience working in a team environment preferably with a small to medium size company.
  • Experience with Solid Works or similar 3D CAD.


Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:



  • Manufacturing Plant exposure helpful, but this position will be a learning environment drawing upon the in-house experience to ultimately create the next generation of products for our industry.
  • Experience in idea generation to reduce costs and improve quality would be a plus.
  • Experience working with Lean Manufacturing principles would also be a plus.
  • Familiarity with ERP software would be a plus.
  • Experience implementing new product and processes would be beneficial.


Compensation:

The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $68,000 to $74,000.

Actual base salaries will vary and may be above or below the recommended pay range based on factors such as but not limited to location, relevant experience and performance. Additionally, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan to enhance their overall total compensation package when Justrite Safety Group and their business units achieve annual business and financial targets.
