We are looking for our next great team member to join us on our Sales & Marketing team as the Executive Meetings Manager at the historic Marriott Syracuse Downtown hotel. We are committed to providing you with:

Here is what you will be doing each day:

Executive Meeting Managers are responsible for securing new business and maintaining repeat customers for the Marriott Syracuse Downtown, through the following but not limited to: outside sales calls, networking, site tours and marketing efforts. Catering sales managers negotiate prices & contract details for primarily corporate groups and small meetings. Occasionally stepping outside that area to book smaller social groups 50 and under as needed.



  • Develop strong customer relationships to widen customer base and marketing opportunities
  • Takes initiative to develop creative and effective business solutions to satisfy guest needs and concerns
  • Supervise and attend the overall setup and implementation of events and meetings. Communicate with relevant departments to ensure proper servicing of accounts

You have a keen eye for details, have strong organizational skills and understand the big impact a small gesture can make. Extensive knowledge of food and beverage etiquette, guest relations and service standards. Strong interpersonal skills to assess client needs, negotiate pricing and provide overall guest satisfaction. Able to effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy. Presents a professional appearance and manner.

Pay rate: $28/hour; 47.5 hours weekly plus bonuses

Qualifications
Experience
1 - 3 years: Experience working in sales, marketing, event planning (required)
