JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the short and long term facility requirements to support current production planning, long term corporate growth, and new product development and manufacturing. This role is responsible for assisting to improve on-time delivery by properly planning the facilities constraint

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Optimize production planning throughout the organization leveraging SAP toolset to drive business systematically while increasing factory throughput
  • Identify and exploit capacity constraints to the Manufacturing and Production team to work on synchronizing and elevating the performance of the constraint
  • Maintain appropriate buffers to account for variability and machine capacity
  • Generate monthly reports and track metrics for key business performance indicators relating to manufacturing process execution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and improve strategies and processes that drive on-time delivery and cycle time reduction
  • Follows and revises procedures required to support of the operation execution process and scheduling applications
  • Participate as a member of the operations team in making cross-functional operational decisions, including transformation planning and financial target setting to meet department Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Cash objectives.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, maintaining and aligning company policies that adhere to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • SAP scheduling functionality
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments and projects
  • Working knowledge of Kanban pull replenishment systems
  • Experience in production planning / level scheduling in a highly complex low volume / high mix manufacturing environment
  • Possess a working knowledge and understanding of lean principles and processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with ability to analyze data and trends to result in action
  • Knowledge of processes, tools and operations considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials throughout the manufacturing cycle.
  • Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility
  • Strong analytical skills and financial understanding

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required Education / Experience

  • BS / BA degree in materials supply chain management, engineering, business or similar field
  • 5-8 Years in Field

Preferred Education / Experience

  • Six Sigma Certification
  • APICS Certification
  • ERP/MRP User (SAP)
  • BI Analytics (Qlik)

Key Working Relationships

Traffic, Supply Chain, Shipping and Sales. Functional Leaders: Engineering, Human Resources, Sales Operations, Sourcing, Finance, Operations, Executive leadership

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time

Working Conditions

Shop-floor and office environment, located on large manufacturing campus
