About This Position
This role contributes to category strategies that help secure cost-effective pricing for Trinity Services Group (TSG). Responsibilities include analyzing market trends, forecasting demand, and auditing pricing to source competitive products and deliver measurable cost savings. The position supports key procurement initiatives such as vendor conversions, inflation mitigation, rebate tracking, and supplier performance improvements. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and leveraging advanced tools, this role helps ensure cost efficiency, compliance, and operational excellence across the organization. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Research market trends and supplier options to support optimal product sourcing strategies.
- Develop category strategies by gathering data and monitoring supply base, industry dynamics, and price indices.
- Lead cost-saving initiatives by analyzing spend data and identifying opportunities for improvement for categories under management.
- Create and execute RFPs for food ingredient categories and assist in vendor identification.
- Maintain accurate product databases to ensure consistent availability and competitive pricing.
- Audit pricing for accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Collaborate with procurement team members to source and distribute products that deliver best value.
- Stay informed on food and nutrition procurement laws, rules, and regulations.
- Provide support to field managers with procurement needs, including issue resolution.
- Assist in preparing formula-based pricing agreements and support negotiations for supplier agreements.
- Monitor commodity and supply risk factors and contribute to mitigation plans.
- Participate in quarterly business reviews with key suppliers to track performance against KPIs.
- Stay current on market trends, cost optimization, and innovation by reviewing industry research and attending trade shows as needed.

What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Purchasing Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of procurement experience in food service or food & beverage industry.
- Knowledge of institutional food service practices, procedures, and regulations.
- Understanding of food quality, values, and compliance standards.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload effectively and work collaboratively with distributors, clients, and internal teams.
- Excellent communication skills-clear oral and written expression.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; ability to interpret data and identify trends.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience using Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and strong computer literacy.
- Proven negotiation and time management skills; ability to support cost-saving initiatives.
- Strong planning, research, and presentation skills.
- Ability to support vendor negotiations and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
- Effective communication skills-able to present ideas clearly, listen actively, and collaborate across teams.
- Ability to think strategically while assisting in solving day-to-day challenges.
