DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be responsible for implementing a variety of testing protocols in accordance with the standards set by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), ASTM International (ASTM), and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Test Methods (PTMs). Your duties will involve performing tests on both coarse and fine aggregates, as well as preparing samples for transfer to concrete or chemistry laboratories and for petrographic analysis. You will also ensure the proper functioning of all testing equipment through daily inspections, monthly maintenance, and necessary cleaning. Furthermore, you will analyze and interpret test data, maintain accurate records, and keep detailed maintenance logs to uphold compliance and operational efficiency. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Technical Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of experience in the testing of materials used in highway, bridge, building, hydraulic or similar construction projects and graduation from high school; or
- An Associate's Degree in a civil engineering technology or closely related field; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:
