What to Expect
As a Senior Technical Program Manager at Tesla, you will lead and manage technical programs in the engineering department, focusing on hardware and software development for connectivity and sensing products. You will be an integral part of the engineering and development team, overseeing leadership, oversight, tracking, decision-making, escalation, and goal management to ensure successful delivery of these programs in alignment with Tesla's goals.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute end-toend cross-functional program plans for Connectivity & Sensing Products, including resource allocation, risk management, and strategies for both upstream definition (requirements mapping, technologies, vendors, milestones, and success metrics) and downstream execution (software and hardware development)
- Lead hardware development for Tesla's Vehicles, encompassing PCBA design, mechanical, thermal, EMC, engineering validation, production testing, and reliability
- Manage a fast-paced portfolio of software features using Agile methodology, Kanban boards, JIRA Sprints, and Scrum Master operations
- Collaborate with engineering leads and managers to set goals, track deliverables, and report progress via JIRA dashboards during monthly/quarterly reviews
- Facilitate communication of engineering requirements between Supply Chain, Purchasing, and other teams for efficient material planning
- Consolidate inputs from across Tesla for executive reviews, highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, production, and supply chain personnel
- Constantly improve processes to enhance precision and dependability while preserving Tesla's agile culture
- Demonstrate strong leadership through rapid development cycles, changing requirements, and uncertainty
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent experience with proof of exceptional abilities
- 6+ years of experience in technical program management and product development, ideally with multiple delivered products in medium-to-high volume industries. Strong preference for products with wireless functionality, seasonality, and end-to-end development from concept to production in high-volume complex products or customer-facing software features
- Familiarity with electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and software development processes
- Experience in planning activities, vendor management, and working in an engineering environment
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex development projects, identify critical elements, and manage risks
- Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping, organizational, and communication skills
- Excellent program management skills, including planning, resource allocation, and stakeholder collaboration in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to work effectively cross-functionally between engineering, production, and supply chain teams

Expected Compensation
$88,000 - $150,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
