Job Description:


SUMMARY
Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in manufacturing plant by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:


  • Reads blueprints and job order for specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions.
  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
  • Develops routings, methods and time standards for production job orders.
  • Designs work holding fixtures for machining, welding and or fabrication.
  • Confers with tool manufacturing representatives to ensure proper usage of tooling and efficient production methods.
  • Analyzes drawings, sketches and design data of part to determine fixturing requirements, dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Outlines sequence of operations required to fabricate part.
  • Creates flat layout geometry from formed drawing views to be used for laser programming.
  • Organizes and maintains storage of all digital drawing files.
  • Management of capital projects under general supervision; plans, conducts and supervises assignments normally involving several smaller or less important projects or one major project.
  • Maintains liaison with manufacturing and sales. Reviews progress and evaluates results; makes changes in methods design or equipment when necessary.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Design workflows, layouts and production lines for optimal performance.
  • Select, install and maintain machinery and tools required for production.
  • Work closely with design and production teams to ensure manufacturability of products.
  • Prepare technical documentation, process instructions, and reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and/or 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior CNC, weldments and sheet metal layout experience is mandatory. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks and GD&T are also required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
