IF YOU CAN DREAM IT, YOU CAN DO IT AT DIVERSIFIED.

What part will you play?

The Fabrication Technician - Level 4 (Lead) is the senior-most technician and operational leader of Diversified's Advanced Technology Center (ATC) fabrication floor. This position serves as the primary point of coordination for all fabrication activities, overseeing daily workload distribution, assigning projects to fabrication technicians, and ensuring every system produced meets Diversified's uncompromising standards for precision, craftsmanship, and reliability.

As the direct operational partner to the Senior Manager, Fabrication Services, the Fabrication Lead manages daily production flow, verifies documentation, maintains tool and equipment readiness, and collaborates closely with the Operations, Logistics & Compliance team on materials, supplies, and commissioning support. The Fabrication Lead is also responsible for reviewing and approving technician timecards and ensuring adherence to operational procedures.

A critical responsibility of this position is ensuring that every project completed by the fabrication team is fully inspected by the Quality Assurance team before release. The Fabrication Lead works directly with QA to confirm that each system meets Diversified's zero-defect standard and complies with all engineering, testing, and documentation requirements. Following QA approval, the Lead ensures that the assigned technician properly kits the project, including packaging, labeling, hardware allocation, cable sets, consumables, and all field installation materials. The Lead also verifies that the complete project documentation package is included, such as engineering drawings, schematics, test reports, commissioning forms, and client-specific deliverables. Only after confirming that all requirements have been met does the Fabrication Lead authorize final handoff to the Operations & Logistics team and the Supply Chain organization for delivery to the client site.

The Fabrication Lead must possess advanced technical expertise in modern AV, broadcast, and media-systems fabrication, including fiber infrastructure, SMPTE 2110 networking, multicast routing, PTP timing, and IP-based media fabrics. This role requires a deep understanding of how 2110 systems and high-density fiber architectures integrate with hybrid and cloud-based media workflows. The Lead is expected to fabricate, test, and validate systems built on emerging media-over-IP standards and ensure compatibility with enterprise, broadcast, and cloud-native production environments.

In addition to managing complex, high-visibility projects, the Level 4 technician provides daily guidance, mentoring, and technical oversight to technicians at all levels. They communicate frequently with project managers, engineers, fabrication managers, and field services leaders to relay progress updates, resolve issues, clarify build requirements, and maintain alignment across all project stakeholders. The Fabrication Lead also represents the ATC during client tours, OEM visits, and partner demonstrations, modeling professionalism, technical excellence, and Diversified's brand promise, Create the Unforgettable. This role establishes and reinforces the culture of quality,
consistency, and pride in craftsmanship across the fabrication team and the regional ATC ecosystem.

What will you be doing?

  • Verify completeness and accuracy of all documentation included in the project kit, such as drawings, schematics, as-builts, test reports, commissioning forms, and client deliverables.
  • Authorize and oversee final handoff of completed and kitted projects to Operations & Logistics and coordinate with the Supply Chain team for client delivery.
  • Fabricate, integrate, and validate systems involving fiber infrastructure, SMPTE 2110 networking, PTP timing, multicast flow alignment, and cloud-connected workflows.
  • Lead daily production meetings, reassigning priorities as required to support project timelines.
