Director, Global Analytics

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This individual will lead the analytics function encompassing the company's accelerating eCommerce business, consumer & category platforms. This leader will work closely with sales, marketing, operations, and finance teams to build a comprehensive analytics strategy that supports key business decisions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership and Strategy Development: 20%



  • Lead and manage the analytics team, driving the development of key performance metrics, building consistent reporting architecture, data models, and reporting processes.
  • Build and execute an analytics strategy to support consumer understanding, product development, sales growth, improve profitability, and optimize customer acquisition and retention.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership and other key stakeholders to guide decision-making.


Sales Performance Optimization: 20%



  • Analyze sales data to uncover trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement across product categories, channels, and customer segments.
  • Identify and communicate areas of opportunity to optimize pricing, promotions, product assortment, and inventory management.
  • Actively monitor competitive activity and tactics, flagging potential risks and collaborating with sales teams to develop and execute mitigation strategies.


Cross-Functional Collaboration: 20%



  • Partner with sales, marketing, product, and finance teams to develop and refine strategies based on analytics insights.
  • Collaborate with the Ecommerce team to ensure alignment between data-driven decisions and business objectives.
  • Drive data-driven discussions with stakeholders to gain buy-in and influence business strategies.


Reporting and Data Management: 20%



  • Oversee the creation of regular sales and performance reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership and business teams.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of sales data, working with IT and data teams to manage data integrity across multiple platforms.
  • Continuously improve reporting tools, dashboards, and analytics processes to ensure actionable insights are available in real-time.


Customer Insights and Segmentation: 20%



  • Develop deep insights into customer behavior and purchasing patterns to guide segmentation, targeting, and personalization efforts.
  • Use customer data to refine digital marketing strategies, improve user experience, and increase conversion rates.
  • Monitor customer lifetime value and churn rates and develop strategies to improve customer retention.


Continuous Improvement and Innovation: +10%



  • Stay current with the latest analytics technologies, tools, and trends in eCommerce.
  • Leverage advanced analytics techniques (e.g., machine learning, artificial intelligence) to drive decision-making.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:



  • Broad business acumen - strategic thinking, consumer and customer understanding, business planning and analysis skills.
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills - ability to distill actionable learnings from multiple sources of information.
  • Excellent facilitation skills - able to explore new or controversial views in a convincing manner that invites inquiry and joint exploration.
  • Ability to gather and distill trend information (POS, consumer, shopper, customer, inventor) into actionable new product concepts, category growth initiatives, and marketing activation.
  • Strong collaboration skills (e.g., Platform teams, Product Development leaders, Category Captains, etc.) to drive ongoing platform management and new platform development simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to innovate - translating consumer insights, customer needs and competitive intelligence into new product and franchise opportunities.
  • Experience managing/leading high performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Consistently strong history of business results and accomplishments


Education:



  • BA Hons Business, Economics, Data Science, Marketing, or a related field.


Experience:



  • 10 years' experience in sales analytics, business intelligence, or related roles, with at least 5 years in team and project leadership position.
